Has CCP come up with any ideas on what to do with POSes after the next release? I know they are planning on slowly nerfing them to verge of oblivion, but is there some light at the end of the tunnel? I could see them being repurposed to serve as deployable force fields for Citadel seiges since it sounds like Citadels are got too be OP as ****. The aggressors sound like they'll have the odds stacked against them.
Point 2, there are tons of POSes out there that will have no purpose otherwise, after their manufacturing, research, and mobility functionality ends. Might as well give them some use.
Anyway, I'm sure other people have been proposing ideas too, my just curious if anyone can link a CCP statement or Dev blog where they came right out and said their initial plans. |

That's what I assumed from what I've heard so far just a shame because there's going to be a total waste. I have blue print copies for a faction tower that I'm not even going to end up building now because I don't want to waste money on it.
If they actually repurposed them, all existing towers could be used and people would have a reason to keep buying them.
Just seems wasteful but you guys answer my question, thank you! |

3) there will be a period of tranisiton, then eventually functions will begin to turn off, fo exsample you will no longer be able to ancho corp hangers. then they will remove the pos' and outpost (citadels will eventually replace outpost, but pos' go first) and on that note we do not know if they will reberese, buy back or make them collectors items.
4) the pos code is so spegetti they won't be reused, but removed form the game
and i will celebreate when they are ******* dead
Point 3 & 4 were what I was really looking for.
I believe the post you're referring to I read quite sometime ago, but I was curious to know if any other statements were made since. I guess not. Thank you for those points. |

Well if I had my way CCP would remove all modules, PG & GPU won't be needed and it would literally be a deployable force field.
Once deployed a hostile force blaps the force field shields then directly attacks the tower to take it out. There would be no reforcement timer. You attack the tower and it's done. However, it could be setup anywhere, so again put one 100km from a citadel and the hostile can seem refuge inside it. No one can shoot or target vessel from the outside into the inside, and vice versa.
Again no weapons batteries would be added to it, just a tower, maybe you could convince me to add refitting abilities. In one way, that would accomidate those pusskins that complained about combat refitting, because they can just go inside and refit safely with out leaving the battle area. |
